In August 2012, Ideal Small Arms established a workshop in Langwarrin, Victoria and commenced manufacturing magazines.

Ideal Small Arms have developed into a specialist firearm parts production engineering business, able to efficiently deliver production runs of 100 units or more.

Ideal Small Arms constantly review and upgrade designs and tooling to take advantage of the latest manufacturing developments. Experimenting with durability of different materials, at weight reduction of components and operating conditions. The list of factors which affect small arms development continues to grow. Research and development is the key to improvement.

Ideal Small Arms actively test during production and assembly to ensure all parts function perfectly.

CAD - Computer Aided Design

Advancements in computer technology, programming and prototyping has opened up a world of opportunities for rapid design and production of new products.  Ideal Small Arms particularly love 3D printing.   

The most important ability one needs is to never stop learning!  There is new and interesting technology created every year.   Now is a golden age for CAD design and innovation.

As children we watched Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, live on television, in black and white!  Wow!

Plastic Injection Moulding

Making plastic tooling and creating plastic components almost from 'thin air' is the best feeling of accomplishment.  A kilogram of plastic can be turned into anything very quickly.  Ideal Small Arms love it.  And volumes ... unlimited!

A majority of Ideal Small Arms' business is now based upon building plastic tooling and volume manufacturing of their own proprietary branded items.

Carbon fibre type plastics are incredibly strong and proving to be an effective alternative to traditional materials.  Mass production is more efficient and cost effective with modern materials.
